President Johnson signed the voting Rights Act, riot begins to form in Watts, an African American neighborhood in Los Angeles. It took 6 days to get everything back into order and calmed down. This riot killed 34 people and injured approx. 900 others. Riots broke out constantly, eventually U.S. Tanks and Soldiers are sent in.
Kerner Commision, blamed racism for most of the problems and conflicts happening.

Dr. King talked mostly about what African Americans faced in Chicago. Dr. King and Mayor Richard J. Daley met up and proposed for a new program to clean things up. Many African Americans started to look the other way when they realized nothing much was changing.
